All medicines and medical products are manufactured, stored and transported in temperature controlled conditions, in order to ensure maximum benefit to the patients with the use of such medicines and medical products. This requirement applies especially to storage and transportation in tropical countries, where the temperature and humidity remain high throughout a major part of the year.

Pharmaceuticals, being chemical compounds, tend to decay and deteriorate on exposure to excessive heat. It is therefore necessary that medicines and medical products are always stored and transported in controlled temperature conditions. The efficacy of medicines and medical products depends to a large extent on the manner in which these are handled in the supply chain till delivery to patients. Muscat Pharmacy realizes the importance of maintaining the quality of products and strictly follows the guidelines set in all aspects of receiving goods, storage, transportation, and delivery.

Our Pharmaceutical warehouse is GDP compliant and is regularly inspected and audited by local regulatory authorities and our principals to ensure that our storage and distribution system comply with their requirements. All warehouses are centrally air-conditioned throughout the year, with cold storage facilities for biologicals, vaccines and other similar products.

The pharmaceutical warehouses are also equipped with access controlled locations dedicated for Narcotics, Psychotropic and controlled medicines. Pharmaceuticals that are handled by well trained Pharmacists licensed for handling such products and maintaining accurate documentation and records of the same. Dedicated access controlled storage areas are also available for segregating conforming products from non-conforming and quarantined products.

Muscat Pharmacy has dedicated warehouses for Surgical products, consumer goods, and baby food items, all of which are compliant to industrial requirements as well.

As a whole, Muscat Pharmacy owns and operates more than eight large warehouse facilities spread across Muscat and Sohar, with a total area of  14000+ m², three with an internal eaves height of 6.2m or more. Three of these facilities are exclusively used for pharmaceuticals and the remaining five for all other products.

Muscat Pharmacy also has one of the region’s most extensive and penetrating distribution networks, backed by a fleet of 120+ delivery vehicles most of them are temperature controlled. In addition to our warehouse facilities, Muscat Pharmacy runs two depots at Sur and Nizwa to cater to the needs of the interior areas with least possible delay. We ensure continuous availability of all products, especially essential medicines at all times.
